Birt receives NSBE Fellows Scholarship

Lindsay Birt, a Master of Science student in the Biological and Agricultural Engineering Department at Texas A&M University was awarded the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) Fellows Scholarship at their annual convention in Boston, MA held March 23-27, 2005. The awards are given to student members who have demonstrated high scholastic performance, dedicated service to the society and other organizations, and who possess high professional promise. Birt is working on evaluation of compost specifications as an erosion control and stormwater best management practice under major professor Dr. Russell Persyn. She is also a recipient of the National Science Foundation Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (LSAMP) Bridge to the Doctorate Fellowship.
